Speeding up routine work helps
AI is useful for an initial interface, standard handlers, small data transformations and draft tests. It shortens the path from an idea to code you can run and discuss.
But a working example is not yet a finished product. You need to understand what happens with an empty response, an unavailable database, repeated clicks and invalid data.
Review behavior
A review starts with requirements: does the change solve the intended problem without breaking a neighboring flow? Then check access boundaries, error handling and dependencies. Attractive code alone does not prove correctness.
A useful test reproduces a user action and checks the outcome. A test that simply mirrors a function’s structure can preserve the same bug as the implementation.
Do not leave security for later
Keep secrets outside the source code. Check data access on the server. Use parameterized database queries. Important operations need enforceable constraints, not just a hidden interface button.
Make the result easy to hand over
For me, a completed iteration means code, a reproducible setup and documented limitations. The next developer should be able to run the project and understand where to change its behavior.
Vibe coding helps you move faster when you keep these engineering habits. Speed is useful when the next step does not require rebuilding the previous one.
From idea to first version.
